Looking at my mask collection right now, I struggle to believe that no less than one year ago, I hated masks, or at least I couldn’t help but define them as somewhat frivolous. It was my own fault, once again I had forgotten that, when it comes to skincare, frequency and fidelity is key. Using them more than once every two weeks doesn’t mean that the skin get used to them, but rather than it doesn’t have the time to forget them and, one to two months later, the impact on the skin is one which none other skincare products can excel when it comes to clear, fresh looking skin.

With a suppler, more comfortable and radiant skin within one, unique use, the Indeed Labs Hydraluron Moisture Boosting Mask is the exception which proves the rule. With 4 sheet masks in one box, this efficiency is more than welcomed and decides on the way I judge other sheet masks, something which might explain my struggle to love, even like, other ones.

-a full review-

Purifying without saying goodbye to the gentleness, the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask is a slightly thick, slightly thin consistency with some harmless -actually quite superficial- exfoliating beads mix into it. A miracle when used frequently on blackheads, skin texture and even sometimes breakouts, it never compromises on the skin’s hydration level. Quite the contrary, this Omorovicza’s miracle even tackles dry patches!

-more about them-

Dehydrating or not, all purifying masks ask for a little bit of comfort to follow their well appreciated clearing action. With the thin, creamy yet clearing consistency of Galaxy Pack and the fresh dose of hydration and vitality of Moon Mask, Glossier has created the perfect duo: 20 minutes with the first one on, a thoughtful rinse, a few minutes to let the skin breathe, another 20 minutes with the second one, a quick rinse and it is almost as if I did a facial -not a feeling I am familiar with, though-.

-the cleanser review-

Often described and reviewed as a cleanser -including me-, many people ignore that the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser can be applied on the skin for more than a few seconds, as a mask or my favourite way of using it. This mask is the one I reach for when I know something is off with my skin, but I cannot quite point the finger at the reason why. The Glow Mud Cleanser exfoliates, purifies, but also, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, respects the skin. When it comes to frequent use on the other hand, it is by far the mask which has the most positive impact on skin texture!

It is a quick fix for unexpected breakouts, but also a great, long-term pick when skin texture is an issue, the Sephora Mud Purifying & Mattifying Mask is a lovely skincare discovery. If its thick texture means that applying it evenly on the skin takes more time than usual, I also happen to think that it is responsible for its deep cleansing actions on the skin.

-more about it-

If La Roche-Posay advises 10 minutes of use, it is as an overnight mask that I prefer to use their Hydraphase Intense Mask: it is how it truly helps the skin renew itself and come back to its strongest self when particularly fragile or dehydrated. Not just perfectly rested and fresh, the skin is also a lot plumper the next morning.

  • My knowledge on masks is pretty bleak and I, like you, didn’t really use them much until this year. I really enjoyed this post. I loved how you broken down each individual need along with a recommendation. Xx

I love face masks and I have been using one every other day, either this is a sheet, peel off or moisturising mask and they make such a difference in how my skin feels and looks.

    • Glad to hear you agree with me, I have yet to try any peel off masks, but I will after this comment!

  • That Galaxy Pack/Moon Mask combo from Glossier really has my interest…I see it everywhere and it sounds amazing! I have Pixi’s Glow Mud Mask and I love it too! Really helps to draw the impurities out. Lovely post!

    • Thank you, I’m not always the biggest fan of Glossier’s skincare, but this duo is really brilliant, my skin literally feels brand new after them!

  • I rarely use the pixi Glow Mud Cleanser as a mask, but I love it anyway.

    • Oh, I love it as a cleanser as well, it is actually a great alternative if I don’t have the time to do a mask!

  • I need the La Roche Posay mask! xx

    • It is so so good! It is a lovely way of cheating 8 hours of sleep, or to simply bring back some water into the skin if it has been traveling quite a lot, or if it simply is exhausted!

I love the glow mud cleanser! I can’t wait to pick up another tube when I’ve used up my current cleansers!

  • Agree about the Pixi Glow Mud cleanser, I learned the trick from Dagmara that it can be left longer on the skin as a mask. And you got me hooked on that Hydraluron sheet masks, they are sooooo good!

I’m definitely a lover of face masks! They are one of my favorite types of skincare products. I definitely want to try out that pixie one. I’ve heard awesome things!

    • I highly recommend it, it just seems to solve every skin issue you have on that day 🙂

  • The texture of the Sephora Mud Purifying & Mattifying Mask really does sound very appealing, I love thicker textures like that, that feel as though they’re getting to work on your skin! 🙂
