BEAUTY HAUL: ONE WEEK LATER -5- TRYING OUT SOME LIP PENCILS
Having recently felt quite uninspired with my makeup -as my blog has been reflecting it, taking care of my skin is what I currently enjoy the most- these three Huda Beauty Lip Contours have definitely been helping me to get back on the makeup bandwagon. Putting lip pencils on is a long, time-consuming process which requires some concentration and delicacy, yet it’s also a lovely gesture which feels very ladylike.
From top to bottom: Trendsetter; Icon; Cheerleader
Whilst my experience with lip pencils is very limited -I’ve only owned one Rimmel lip liner before- I do think that the Huda Beauty Lip Contours have a gorgeous formula: it combines a matte finish -once it settles- with a lightweight and creamy consistency which is comfortable to wear -as usual, a little bit drying at the end of the day- and doesn’t highlight the fine lines of the lips. It offers the longevity of a traditional matte lipstick and, if it ever happens to fade away, it never looks ugly: it’s more an even, muted down version of the original colour.
I wear the Huda Beauty Lip Contours on their own to forget they even here or I apply my Dior Addict Lip Glow on top of them to add a little bit more drama, it works with all the shades:
Icon is definitely my favourite as it is extremely flattering on my fair skin, without the help of a bronzer or blusher! I wish I could say the same about Trendsetter: as much as I loved it with a heavier makeup, it wasn’t as complimentary paired down with a natural, everyday makeup. It’s still a lovely neutral shade though! Cheerleader is such a unique red shade, it can look scary yet it definitely works! This brick red completely lightens up my face and eyes! I love it and, even though it is a bright red, I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of it.
