I feel quite guilty as this little series has never revealed major disappointments yet, in my defence, I always do a lot of research before I purchase some beauty products. The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Full Coverage Cream and Tightline Waterproof 3-in-1 Black Primer Mascara being both makeup basics I use on a daily basis, I’m ever more pleased than usual with my purchases for which I can already foretell their favourite tag among my makeup collection.

The It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Full Coverage Cream -Anti-Aging Hydrating Serum SPF 50+ UVA/UVB- is quite an odd and unique base: applying a rather large amount with a brush would turn this CC Cream into a  medium to full coverage foundation whilst using the tiniest amount and blending it into the skin with my fingers reveals a lightweight, -almost- invisible base whose finish copies the look of a healthy, freshly hydrated skin, somewhere in between a satin and glowy finish. Needless to say that I prefer to use it with my finger as I was on the hunt for a foundation which, whilst being barely noticeable for others, would be easy to forget throughout the day for me too. Yet, it’s a lovely, long-wearing and versatile base as, so far, it is the only base for which I can genuinely say that its coverage is buildable. The shade Fair -as expected- is a little bit too dark for me, but it is a gorgeous not too pink, not too yellow shade which would suit a lot of fair skintones, especially when it is worn in a sheer way! Reading back my description now, I believe it has become quite easy to understand the It Cosmetics CC+ cult status as it is able to meet so many different needs.

The Tightline Waterproof 3-in-1 Black Primer Mascara on the other hand, doesn’t meet all the needs on the market. As much as I adore it, I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who’s looking for volume in a mascara. In fact, it doesn’t give any, probably because it is a primer and not a proper mascara. Yet it is a gorgeous one when it comes to adding some length to the lashes or to holding the curl without smudging or fall outs throughout the day. The wand makes the application extremely easy and enables an utmost precision, allowing me to go on the inner corner of my eyes but also on the roots of my lashes. Also thanks to the tiny wand, the lashes are finely coated, keeping the final result extremely natural to the point where I sometimes forget I even have mascara on. Along with the Your Skin But Better Full Coverage Cream, the Tightline Waterproof Mascara has completely achieved the task I was asking it to do, therefore becoming a makeup which doesn’t feel like makeup.

  • I really want to try that CC cream – I have to get my hands on it soon! xx

    • It truly is unique, and I really struggle to see one reason why somebody wouldn’t love it!

  • i really want to try it cosmetics as a brand for myself but i can’t get in anywhere close to me. i will try it one day though.

    • So do I, it’s such a shame isn’t it? I ordered mine on Beautylish and I was very happy with the overall process!

  • I´ve seen many people that absolutely love this cc cream.
I might need to try it. Great review!

  • I didn´t try this CC cream yet. Thanks for the information. I am quite interested in this product.

  • Thank you for the honest review about the primer mascara! And I’m glad you managed to find the right way to work with the CC Cream, the finish is beautiful isn’t it? It’s definitely one of my favourite bases!

    • You’re welcome 🙂 I love the finish so much, it is the only base I’ve been wearing since I had it!

  • clare⭐

I like the sound of the CC cream!

  • Hm, I never was intrigued by a mascara primer, but the CC Cream sounds nice.

    • Me neither actually (even though I like to layer my mascaras), that’s why I’m using it as a mascara! It is really nice indeed 🙂

      • Yes, but I wouldnt have bought it in the first palce I guess. Which means I would have missed out.

  • I’m not sure about the CC cream, I used to love it though!

  • IT cosmetics is one of the brands I am really curious about. I heard a lot about their base products, however, I couldn’t see any store that sells these products. I don’t like ordering base products online as I always get the wrong colour. Where did you get them? I like the wand of the primer mascara, it looks different!

    • I’ve ordered mine on Beautylish, I’ve taken the lightest shade, since, as I’ve explained in the post, usually the lightest shades are still a little bit too dark for my skintone! I would say that you could probably order the CC cream online if you want to wear it in a sheer, yet, if you want to wear it more as a foundation, it is pretty risky indeed 🙂

  • Ahhh the CC Cream sounds SO good! And exactly what my dry, dull winter skin needs 🙂

    • Yes, it is the perfect base for winter skins, it doesn’t highlight dry patches yet it isn’t overly glowy or greasy either!
