After what feels like two years of use of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet liquid lipsticks, I finally gave in and decided to try other liquid lipsticks. If it isn’t very original -most of us can agree that, as we keep seeing these, we are annoyingly both bored and tempted by them-  I’m hoping my approach towards them will be. Indeed, as I tend to prefer a creamy formula other an impressive longevity, I believe my opinion on these could be interesting. Within this selection, I’m not expecting to find my new everyday lipstick, but rather some new formulas about which I’ve heard great things and, more precisely, I’m hoping to discover what advantages can I get from them.

Swatches from top to bottom: Cassis; Noisette (Jouer) / Mocha; Miami Fever (Ofra)

Of all the liquid lipsticks which are thoughtfully analysed on the Internet, the Ofra Long Lasting Liquid Lipsticks and the Jouer Long-Wear Lip Crèmes are always listed as the most comfortable ones, yet it truly is the shade selection – as always- which convinced me! As much as I wanted to stay in the neutral sides of things, I was nevertheless determined to dare a little bit more within this area, and I believe the four shades I chose are fairly representative of my will! If Mocha – from Ofra– and Cassis – from Jouer–  seem to respectively be a very typical peachy brown and a classic deep mauvy pink, Noisette – from Jouer– and Miami Fever – from Ofra– are a little bit more unusual. Noisette is a medium brown which doesn’t seem to have any undertones whereas Miami Fever is a brown with some strong brick red and orange undertones in it. While the safer shades will allow me to objectively judge the formulas, the risky shades will extend my makeup collection and, more importantly, they will give me a foretaste of the brand’s offering!

As always, we will have these answers in a week’s time!

  • I rarely wear liquid lipsticks, for no particular reason. I just barely own any.

    • Well, maybe you will want to try some after next week’s post 🙂 I’m off to try the first one right now (yep, still haven’t done my makeup today, after all it’s Sunday!)

  • I’ve never tried anything from these brands, but oh my! The colors are gorgeous.
The only liquid lipstick I own is the NYX one 🙂

  • I’ve wanted to try the Ofra liquid lipsticks for forever – both these shades look gorgeous. I’ve heard good things about the Jouer ones too!

    • So do I, I believe I’ve yet to hear anything bad about the Jouer liquid lipsticks!

Keep up with the good work! xx

  • I only have a few liquid lipsticks, some of them don’t last long or too drying so I better stick to my beloved lipsticks 🙂 Cassis is a beautiful colour, I think it would be best for the transition season.

    • I agree about Cassis! Don’t last long? That’s a shame, especially when it supposed to be their biggest advantage!

  • I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts, especially on the Jouer ones. You chose beautiful colours! xx

    • Yes, even though I’ve just realized they aren’t very summery, I still think they are quite beautiful indeed!

  • Great shades!

Liquid lipsticks can be a hit or miss for me, so i typically get them in wearable / nude shades. I find that they’re either messy or drying.

    • Yes, I understand what you mean, it’s much more difficult to have a pretty finish with liquid lipsticks!

  • Like you said–I’m both intrigued and bored by liquid lipsticks at this point but..these look so pretty curiosity wins. Also, everyone is raving about the Jouer formula–I’ve tried a lot of liquid lipstick formulas so I’d love to see how the Jouer holds up against all others. I’m thinking Noisette would be a really good nude for me!

    • You’re right, curiosity always wins when it comes to makeup! Noisette is a very beautiful and unique shade which, I believe, can suit many different skintones!
