BEAUTY HAUL: THE EXPECTATIONS -4- COLOURPOP BRONZERS
Since my latest Lippie Stix experience with ColourPop, I’ve been eager to try more makeup from the brand. Despite being mostly known for their eyeshadows and various lipstick formulas, it is actually their bronzers which were the most appealing to me. Moreover, this time, -and that is probably unheard of for me-, this is more the promise of a bouncy cream to powder texture that the actual shades which convinced me to hit the ‘order’ button!
In order of appearance: Super Shock Cheek Bon Voyage -matte-, Super Shock Cheek Poolside -satin-.
I’ve picked up two shades of the Super Shock Cheek bronzers: Bon Voyage and Poolside, which respectively offer a matte and satin finish to the skin. While Bon Voyage is recommended for fair to light skintones, Poolside, on the other hand, is more targeted towards medium dark to dark skintones. I’m definitely on the fair side of things yet, after seeing their light skin selection, I just thought that only a shade like Poolside would allow me to create some dramatic bronzey cheeks! As mentioned earlier, on the website swatches, none of the shades were particularly new and unique to me -except for Happy Hour, the darkest shade, which seems particularly adapted and flattering on medium/dark skin-. Looking at the pans right now, Bon Voyage should be a gorgeous, almost invisible bronzer and perhaps even a great contour powder, if the finish is as discrete as the shade seems to be. Poolside, however, scares me a little bit: if it is a little bit less shimmery than I was expecting, it also seems to be a lot darker! I’m nonetheless looking forward to play with these new textures and shades and, consequently, to learn more about ColourPop -which is now shipping internationally- and, as always, I would share my first impressions about the bronzers in a week’s time!
