Since my latest Lippie Stix experience with ColourPop, I’ve been eager to try more makeup from the brand. Despite being mostly known for their eyeshadows and various lipstick formulas, it is actually their bronzers which were the most appealing to me. Moreover, this time, -and that is probably unheard of for me-, this is more the promise of a bouncy cream to powder texture that the actual shades which convinced me to hit the ‘order’ button!

In order of appearance: Super Shock Cheek Bon Voyage -matte-, Super Shock Cheek Poolside -satin-.

I’ve picked up two shades of the Super Shock Cheek bronzers: Bon Voyage and Poolside, which respectively offer a matte and satin finish to the skin. While Bon Voyage is recommended for fair to light skintones, Poolside, on the other hand, is more targeted towards medium dark to dark skintones. I’m definitely on the fair side of things yet, after seeing their light skin selection, I just thought that only a shade like Poolside would allow me to create some dramatic bronzey cheeks! As mentioned earlier, on the website swatches, none of the shades were particularly new and unique to me -except for Happy Hour, the darkest shade, which seems particularly adapted and flattering on medium/dark skin-. Looking at the pans right now, Bon Voyage should be a gorgeous, almost invisible bronzer and perhaps even a great contour powder, if the finish is as discrete as the shade seems to be. Poolside, however, scares me a little bit: if it is a little bit less shimmery than I was expecting, it also seems to be a lot darker! I’m nonetheless looking forward to play with these new textures and shades and, consequently, to learn more about ColourPop -which is now shipping internationally- and, as always, I would share my first impressions about the bronzers in a week’s time!

  • Oooo, these are great addition to your stash! I look forward to you review and first impressions, would you consider doing a makeup look post with them?

    • I hope so as well!! Unfortunately, I can’t really do this kind of post at the moment, I take all my pictures with an iPhone (for now) and it very rarely succeeds in capturing the tones of the makeup I’m wearing (that’s why I very rarely post pictures of swatches as well…)! It just washes me out!

      • I know that pain, I was using my iPhone 5 for pictures for a longggg time! LOL!

        • Lol, I manage to take some great pictures of the products, because it’s a close-up, but, when it comes to my face, it isn’t as great 🙁 Buying a proper camera is on my list of things to do, but I don’t think it’s gonna happen before at least a couple of months!

  • I haven’t tried their bronzers yet but they look gorgeous and I love how they have shades targeted for every skin tone. I have only tried their highlighters and I am in love with them! All their powder products seem to be really good quality.

    • I’m very glad to hear that! Next time I must try their highlighters then! Thank you for commenting 🙂

  • I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts on these when you’ve been using them for a while! xx

  • I actually never heard someone talk about their bronzers before, so I am excited to hear your thoughts.

    • JasmineTalksBeauty talks a lot about them, that’s how I’ve started to pay attention to them! I’ve seen a couple of other bloggers mentioning them, but, overall, I don’t believe I’ve ever read a proper review about them either!

      • I don’t think I have ever watched/read JasmineTalksBeauty. Is she a recommendation?

        • (read) Definitely! I really like her blog, the focus is more on makeup than skincare but I really like it! Her posts are very detailed and honest!

  • I’ve only tried a liquid lippie and some eyeshadow from the brand so definitely need to experiment more. The bronzers look pretty good and I think something darker like Poolside would suit me x

  • I absolutely love ColourPop bronzers- they’re so underrated in my opinion!
