With the exception of a few fashion choices, I’m not a trendy girl. Trends are really tricky to me because I always approach them with the fear of regretting them later on, not just the look of them, but also the money spent on them. Cushion foundations, on the other hand, is one I’m getting along with, maybe because it isn’t about fancy colours or odd consistencies, but rather about a light, radiant and almost invisible veil on the skin, something I will forever want out of  foundations. The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation -SPF 25 / PA+++- is one of them!

Although in many ways a cushion, the Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation instantly feels a little bit unusual, it isn’t a sponge, but rather a cushion in the traditional sense of the term: it is a mesh with a lovely bounce to it. A little bit more liquidey than usual, the consistency is easy to work with and perfectly matches the purpose of a cushion where the tiniest amount of foundation is enough to build an even, light coverage base, and where applying some more would mean wasting it.

Whilst the shade N°10 -a very light beige ivory- perfectly matches my current skin tone, its longevity on the skin -up to 6 hours- is rather impressive, especially coming from such a light coverage, radiant and invisible -truly- foundation. Along with its sun protection and overall hydrating properties, this invisibility on the skin seems to bring the Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation closer to skincare than any BB or CC creams I’ve ever tested.

Infused with the light and most beautiful Chanel Beauty scent, the silky foundation also takes its freshness from its gel-like consistency -all of which are very appropriate for spring and summer mornings- while its overall luminosity comes from its sheerness on the skin. Working hand in hand with it, the finish of the Chanel Les Beiges cushion resembles more a healthy complexion lightly and freshly hydrated than an uneven skin with a layer of makeup on top of it.

Since I travel a lot I am a huge fan of cushion foundations. I have not tried the Chanel beige so far but I will try now.
    Love, Esther

    • Oh, yes, they are so practical indeed! Thank you for your lovely comment 🙂

  • This sounds perfect for summer!

P.S. I’m not very trendy either! xx

This sounds amazing for the summer weather!

  • Yiotou_La

Sounds amazing, spf25, moisturising and a healthy glow? Yes please!! Do you believe that I haven’t tried a cushion foundation before?? Haha! x

    • If you like something very quick and easy to use and a natural, healthy finish, I highly recommend you try some, maybe not this Chanel one right away as it is quite expensive, but rather the L’Oréal Nude Magique Cushion! It is very similar to the Chanel one and it wouldn’t hurt as much if you end up not loving the whole cushion trend!

The loreal is the one I have in mind!! Thank you I will try it next!! xx

  • I try new trends, kore so in skin and makeup than in fashion. And after buying my first cushion I can safely say that this is not a trend for me. But at least I tried.

    • I definitely realize that it isn’t for everyone, especially this one as it has a very light coverage (something I love, but I can understand why it isn’t enough for others)!

  • Wow seems perfect for summer! I only use BBCC cream during this season, because of the light glowy coverage they give.
And I’ll never stop saying how beautiful are Chanel packagings!!

    • I couldn’t agree more about the packagings, especially the ones from the Les Beiges range! This one definitely reminds me of a very light BB or CC cream so you would love it as well 🙂

  • This has been getting really great reviews and I plan to buy it soon. The last time I checked it wasn’t released yet but that was like 2-3 weeks ago. I’ll check again soon.

    • Yes, I wasn’t planning on trying it, but the amount of amazing reviews on the internet made me buy it, and I’m not regretting it 🙂

  • I’m kinda with you when it comes to trends as I’ve made that mistake so many times before! Still haven’t tried cushion foundations or anything from Chanel. Perhaps two can become one. Xx

    • Glad to hear I’m not the only one! I highly recommend it, especially if you like very natural and lightweight foundations!

  • Anything that delivers a fresh glow and a healthy complexion is worth a try. I’ve never got on with Chanel foundations in the past – I think the colour match is a tad tricky for me but Im still going to test this next time I go past a Chanel counter x

    • Yes, usually this shade 10 is a little bit too yellow for my skin tone, but because this is extremely sheer, it works hand and hand with my skin and create a perfect match, so you are more likely to find your match as well, at least I hope so 🙂

  • This looks like such a great product!! x
