FRESH SOY FACE CLEANSER & COMPARISON
Comparison isn’t healthy, everyone keeps repeating it at the moment, and I cannot say that I disagree. I do however think that this is what the mind is naturally trained to do, and if we fight it when it comes to ourselves, a little bit of comparison doesn’t hurt when it is time to review skincare items, quite the contrary. Case in point: ever since I’ve tried the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser, I cannot but comparing it to another cleanser, and it is the comparison itself which made me realize how gorgeous it was.
Indeed, I pretty much bought the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser –more about it– at the same time, two cleansers which, coincidentally, share the same love for rosewater as well as the same gel-which-does-not-foam consistency. Refreshing in the morning, but also less drying than the traditional foaming cleanser in the evening, this consistency often means good all-rounder cleanser, but some all-rounders are better than others. I like the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, everything, from the white packaging to the rosy scent, meets the current skincare trend, and its light, silky feeling on the skin is very hard to resist when choosing which cleanser to use in the morning and in the evening. A little less glamorous than Glossier, the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser opts for a simple packaging and a cucumber scent which is as subtle as it is non-artificial, a win win. The real difference, however, lies in the post-cleansing skin.
Not drying, but also not as hydrating as it claims to be, reaching for the Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser every morning and every evening wouldn’t be the best decision to make for dry and/or dehydrated skins, the Soy Face Cleanser, on the other hand, truly respects the skin, it leaves the skin as comfortable and radiant as a rich cleansing balm would do. Perhaps it comes from the slightly more sophisticated ingredient list, with lots -lots!, mainly thanks to the soy, omnipresent in the ingredient list- of Amino acids, one of those ingredients which do it all. Radiance, skin renewal without forgetting hydration, the Amino Acids truly help the skin. They probably are the little miracle which distinguishes this cleanser from the usual makeup remover, something which it is particularly good at as long as waterproof makeup isn’t involved -therefore perfect as both first and second cleanser-. The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser seems indeed more versatile and beneficial than the plain gel cleanser: the makeup is flawlessly erased, but the skin is also more energized and comfortable than usual, nothing to compete with the impact of a beautiful serum or an efficient moisturizer, but definitely the bonus which makes Fresh win the Glossier/Fresh cleansing battle.
