Every sensitive skin -if not all of them- knows this feeling far too well: the uncomfortable skin which replaces any significant thought of the day by the more superficial ‘I cannot wait to go home and take my makeup off’. So, at this time of year where everyone seems to look for the perfect warm and cosy coat, I like to be the one who lists the picks which help the skin to feel as comfortable as the body.

To me, cosy skin is first and foremost a question of knowing where to introduce some extras into the routine, starting with La Roche-Posay’s Hydraphase Intense Mask, a mask at its best when used overnight for an intense dose of hydration and strength. Next is the Dr.Jart+ Ceramidin Liquid, or the serum which I use as a booster whenever the skin shows some weaknesses, whether it is sensitivity, dehydration or -although quite rare for me- dryness and dry areas. Finally, more a winter switch than an extra, Nuxe Crème Fraîche de Beauté for Dry to Very Dry, Even Sensitive skins is the perfect way to round off the skincare routine with simplicity, but a slightly richer, soothing one.

I always like my makeup to feel like skincare on the skin, to be as hydrating and lightweight as it can be, that is to say not drying and easy to forget really. It is perhaps the reason why I like the Glossier Stretch Concealer -Light 10- to be my makeup routine’s very first step: it simply is the best hydration/pigmentation/coverage ratio I’ve found so far. Always awake, fresh and comfortable, never dry or cakey at the end of the day either, my under eyes have rarely looked or felt better. The same could be said for my skin, all thanks to the L’Oréal True Match -1.N.Ivory-, a foundation which seems to keep getting better and better as I’m using and taming it: applied with fingers and in small quantity, it becomes the most lightweight and invisible foundation I’ve ever tried. As fresh as completely bare, the skin breathes and lives through it. But all the cosy skin in the world doesn’t mean anything if the lips aren’t comfortable as well, hence why I’m introducing Dior’s Lip Glows -this time in 004 Coral– or the best way to keep the lips hydrated, plump and comfortable without compromising on a pretty tint as well as a glamourous shine.

  • You look so gorge! Loving the lip colour 🙂 I definitely want to try the Glossier concealer, sounds amazing!

    • Oh, thank you! Yes, it might just be the most hydrating concealer I have ever tried!

  • I definitely need that LRP mask and Cermaidin liquid! You are absolutely stunning! xx

  • I agree, everything starts with skincare and knowing your skin. My needs are actually quite the opposite to yours, anything too hydrating leaves mid with the urge to wipe down my face. Lightweight it is for me as well though, to not suffocate my skin.

    • I believe you will love the True Match foundation then! I literally feel like I’m wearing nothing when I wear it!

  • Yiotou_La

I love lightweight products that last during the day and make me feel comfortable, that’s why I prefer foundations with medium coverage or even bb and cc creams, I need to know that my skin breathes and does not feel cakey after a few hours.

    • I believe you’ll love this foundation then, I would say its coverage is light to medium as well!

  • I always find when i apply foundation with my fingers, it blends into the skin better. Your makeup and skin looks flawless x

    • Oh, thank you. Yes, I feel like I’ve tried many techniques of application over the past few years, but I always seem to go back to fingers, I guess nothing replaces the way they harm up the products!

  • I love Glossier!

    • I haven’t tried much from them, but one thing is sure: I love this concealer!

  • I ended up using that little tube of Nuxe Creme Fraiche really quickly. Its so lovely and that scent is just…mmm! xxx

  • Your skin looks amazing! For those really, really dry days, I reach for one from Eucerin or Oilatum’s Face Repair cream. It’s an oldie but a goodie! xx

    • Thank you, makeup helps, though! I will check these recommendations out, thank you for sharing!

  • I used to apply foundation with fingers but have long stop doing that. I really should start doing it again, I agree that the warmth of our fingers helps to sink in the product. You have beautiful skin, almost porcelain! xx

  • Love how you describe makeup feeling like skincare on the skin, I feel the very same way! Plus, it applies about 10000x with lipstick, because dry lips can be such a distraction throughout the day. You’re such a natural beauty, by the way!!

  • Wow I really want to try that Glossier Stretch Concealer – your skin looks flawless!
