The Faithful -6- Skincare edition

6

1- Mixa’s Rich nutritive cream

This is the typical heavy, comfy, a little bit sticky rich cream to primrose oil which comforts and re-hydrates the skin overnight – It can be used for day or night but it is a little bit too heavy for me to be used in the morning – . It does take considerable time to fully penetrate the skin, which is why I can definitely include this cream in the ‘ stick to the pillow’  cream category. I personally do not mind, especially because, when it comes to soothing a dehydrated skin which is tight, I believe this is the only way to gain quick and visible results. Moreover, this is probably the cream I enjoy the most applying and feeling on my skin and my favorite one to offer a fresh start to my skin!

2- Pixi Glow Tonic Exfoliating toner

This is one the rare products which have genuinely changed my skin. It has refined and brightened my skin texture and even helped with my acne in the jaw area. I do not have much more to say except that Pixi recommends to use it both in the morning and in the evening, yet I must admit that I only use it in the evening – which is the moment when I tend to do my heaviest skincare routine – because I find that it tends to dry out the skin. It also favors spots healing and – slightly – reduces old acne marks. I cannot but recommend it since it is very easy and pleasant product to use – like a toner, quickly swipe the face while avoiding of course the eye area –  which truly embellishes the skin.

3- La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying foaming gel

This is the second cleanser I use when my skin breaks out or when I have just spent a long day – with or without makeup- as it thoroughly cleans the skin while healing the small acne, yet without creating dry patches on my skin – which tends to be the case for most cleansers-. It owns a lovely scent which gives an impression of freshness highly appreciated at the end of the day. Finally, I must add that it is not a very expensive product and the tiniest hazelnut is enough to clean the whole face!

  • I want to try the Pixi brand so badly, but it’s not sold in Spain! I think that I might bring a big bag with me whenever I go to England to buy lots of makeup and skincare products that are impossible to get here!
Nice post! Have an amazing day xx

    • Thank you! I actually live in France and order every Pixi’s product on their website so they might deliver in Spain too!

  • I really need to get Pixi toner, it has been on my list for so long. La Roche products sound really good however haven’t had a chance to try any of them yet. I will start with the mist, heard a lot about it.

    • I actually never tried the mist (if you are talking about serozinc) but I really want to try it as well!

      • Yeah I was talking about that one, I just couldn’t remember the name so I wrote mist 🙂

  • I think I’m going to purchase the Effaclar cleanser right now, it sounds amazing like you said!

  • I didn’t know that Pixi also has skin care products, I have few makeup products by this brand and really like them, especially Eye Bright Liner (waterproof inner rim liner). The toner sounds very good, I should check it out! Thanks for your review xx

    • I actually want to try some other things from their skincare range as they just expand it, but I really like their makeup range as well!

  • That Pixie toner is one I haven’t tried so far but am really excited to hopefully in the near future. And LRP do some great products, so maybe I´ll look into that cleanser soon.
